Love the price tag on that one - $19.67. ;D

As for Fenn, they turned my Slap Shot book down, but I'm glad now that they did. There's a thread on the JTO board about Bill Simmons' basketball book and its many errors and shoddy researching, but McFarlane's book has a reference to Canada's 1962 Olympic bobsled team. Um, the 1962 Olympics? That's when I gave up on that piece of shit. And when I saw that Lorna Nicholson had written a book for Fenn about a Hockey Canada team, I just about puked.

Fuck Fenn Publishing. I'll go to a vanity press and sell books out of the back of my van before I ever return to them with a proposal.

If the Canucks flame out in the Olympic hockey tourney that Nicholson book will be filling up remainder bins and landfills across the country.

That's a stellar reason for cheering against Canada. Wait, what? ;)

Canucks up 3-0 after one against the Slovaks. Taylor Hall has scored two and been been tremendous for Canada. McGuire has the kneepads out for Hall but it's justified the way he's played so far. Slovaks have been physical and have pressured the Canucks offensively.

Slovaks score the first goal on Canada in 157 minutes

And a few seconds later, Taylor Hall gets his hat trick

    6-1

Shit, I was hoping Canada would go the entire tournament without allowing a goal.

Just like the U of T Grads at the 1928 Olympics. :)

There must have been some seriously hungover people up here on Boxing Day

It's been boring as batshit. I watched ten minutes of the Latvia game, none of the Swiss and a period and a half of tonight's game.

I'm hoping the Canucks/Yanks game on New Year's Eve is a real hockey game.

So, Canada and the US are tied at one each after the first. Finally some hockey worth watching

Now 2-2 in the 2nd and I think the Canadian goalie just stopped a penalty shot.
