The 30-second shot clock, it is surmised, eliminates the need for the 10-second backcourt violation. If it takes you 15 seconds to cross midcourt, you're basically going to have next-to-no time to get a decent shot.

Also, the 5-second closely-guarded count exists all over the floor, even in backcourt, so if you get trapped in backcourt, you're kinda screwed.

Pretty rugged game on both sides, but Baylor's in control for good, I think.

Horse hockey. Get it across like every other level, from second grade on up. There are states that have a shot clock and the 10-second rule -- in high school.

Yeah, Stanford had a pretty good plan for keeping Griner at bay, but it involved Stanford making and Baylor missing open perimeter shots. The exact opposite is happening.

For a team that is 38-0, Kim Mulkey sure does bitch and whine at the officials -- on every ... single ... freakin' ... call ... against ... her ... team.

It isn't necessary if you're Kim Mulkey. But with Brittney Griner scratched up more than a cat's toy, it's understandable that she feels she's fighting for her players. Think Griner doesn't see some rough play more than occasionally? Mulkey didn't defend Griner punching the kid from Texas Tech two years ago, and she didn't excuse Griner leaving the bench at the end of the Tennessee game.

Mulkey is working the officials, yes, but stops well before begging and seeking cheap excuses.

If that's what she wore for a semifinal game I shudder to think what Kim Mulkey will roll out on Tuesday night.

She should roll out with Pitino's Colonel Sanders outfit since he won't be donning it.

Nolan Richardson's red leather suit is tough to top but I'm thinking she will.

Getting into a "top this" contest involving wardrobes and Kim Mulkey is a zero-sum game.

His clown suit in the 1995 title game would be hard to top.
