Hard few months on NBA owners, following Mel Simon.

RIP Pollin. Now change the name back to the Bullets.

Easily one of the most magnificent, iconic, influential, and grand owners in the history of professional sports. He single handedly completely transformed and revitalized an entire neighborhood from a blighted, crime-infested dump into a bustling, high-energy and hip place to be. He's easily the best sports owner Washington, DC, has ever had, and maybe one of the best there's ever been in sports.

Wasn't the story that he changed the name only after Rabin was assassinated, rather than as a response to the DC crime?

I don't care if he changed the name because he thought Lynyrd Skynrd's Gimme Back My Bullets was overplayed. Er, gimmie back the Bullets.

By the power of Wes Unseld, I command you!

Didn't like the name change and definite thought the Wizards nickname was weak. But he was good for D.C. and loved the town. I do understand hisreasoning for the name change. They will always remain Bullets to me.
I also thought his love affair with Wes Unseld clouded his judgment.
RIP to a truly beloved D.C. leader.

Not just that neighborhood but the whole city.

All of Wards 7, 8, and a good chunk of Ward 5 asks, "huh?"

I thought the name change was necessary, but I didn't like 'Wizards.' Although, if I remember correctly, the other options weren't much better.
