Bush should practice the ancient Japanese custom of Seppuku (roughly translated, fall on a sword). Short of that, he should resign tomorrow. Cheney should join him, all the way down the list. Stop the list at the White House valet attendant. He should become the new President and I guarantee he'd do a better job.

This is like a Twilight Zone episode that continues to get worse every day.

While you're at it, put Carter on the list. The man has ably demonstrated he's capable of good with Habitat for Humanity and he's redeemed himself post-presidency, but while in office he was the village idiot.

He wasn't an idiot. Just wasn't a good president.

  5. I think Carter realized that the Iranian hostages were actually hostages.
This guy? I think he could have convinced himself they actually were stranded tourists.

UPDATE -- Oh, and he's a dick, too.

Neither Nixon (who could, actually, have been a great president if he wasn't a paranoid freak), Carter nor Bush are the worst president ever. You have to go back much futher -- like right before the Civil War -- to find the worst president ever (Oh, and Grant . . . what an idiot).

Webb confessed that he was so angered by this that he was tempted to slug the commander-in-chief, reported the source, but of course didn’t.[

    Too bad he didn't.

Poor Georgie. It's unfortunate that he has to deal with the likes of people who have children serving in Iraq.

  9. But Jim Webb is really a conservative, so he's not really a Democratic senator, you know.

There's no shame in not being a good president.

And there's no shame in voting for someone who isn't a good president . . . ONCE.

But Carter was and is a good and decent PERSON. He was anguished about the situation in Iran and about his inability to solve the crisis.

Bush is not. Not a good man. Not a good person. Not a good president. The only time he appears anguished is when he is asked a difficult question --- which happens almost never --- or he doesn't get his way when he tries to circumvent the Constitution for the 3,762th time.

And there is shame in voting for someone who isn't a good president . . . TWICE.

And finally . . . the last time I checked, those hostages DID come home, and with their heads attached to their bodies.

Maybe the other party should nominate someone who isn't a moron himself (Gore, Kerry, Dukakis).

Hondo's right. If those guys are so smart, how come they aren't president? Huh?
