Will pump pain kill journalism?

I boast that oil will fall to $10 tomorrow....

 

And if so, prices would raise 10 cents

 

It's interesting how some so-called "expert" predicts the price of a barrel of oil will go up. And then ... it does! Can anyone say market manipulation? Insider trading?

 

And don't forget, it's easier to score sweet, sweet smack in your area of town, too.

 

I'd hate to be an Online that's making no money right now.

 

I'm a journalist. I don't make enough to support a smack habit. Actually, I was inadvertently very smart. The historic district continues to gentrify and appreciate. The house I bought has increased in value by 50 percent since I bought it dirt cheap in October 2006. Since I bought it, somebody bought the house next door and they've totally updated it. Same across the street. So now I'm surrounded by a small business owner (owns a gymnastics school), a building contractor (behind me) an attorney and his model wife and an engineer. I'm the one who sticks out like a sore thumb on this block now. It's nice being the riff-raff in your neighborhood.

 

I could see finding comfort in: It gets no worse than me.

 

That's right...I'm like the old Mark Twain line...I wouldn't want to live in any neighborhood that would have a sportswriter as a neighbor...
