Will COVID-19 be the needle that finally bursts the sports bubble?

    Recall last year they tried to hold UFC 249 at a Native American-run casino in the Central Valley of California, carried by ESPN, until Disney threw a fit.

    Let's just say COVID transmission is not the reason I'm actively trying to avoid any autoplaying videos from that event.

    Of the two, the United deal is far more problematic. Indoors and -- if recent history holds -- more populated.

    Theoretically they can open the roof, but seems like that never happens more than a couple of times a season. Just another expensive toy for owners to demand and then toss in the corner.

    OTOH, United fans, at least in the supporters sections, are a good bit more likely to actually have gotten their two-shot parole cards the honest way.

    Their quotes just illustrate what I’ve been saying all along, and that is that there is still a large chunk of our society who have no understanding about Covid and how to prevent it.
