What's the Wikipedia article du jour? It's the article of the day.

Today's honored entry: ToeJam & Earl - The 1991 Sega Genesis game.

I was more of a Vectorman and Sonic guy myself, but I had some quality afternoons playing TJ & E, too. I played the bejesus out of that Sega.

All the Sega kids out there, what were some of your favorites?

I've triumphantly walked the lovely landscape of Funkotron more times than I should probably admit ("Oh, rapturous jubilation!"). Back in middle school, my best friend and I would play this all the damn time. I was ToeJam (faster). He was Earl (longer life). Took two or three hours to win. We always won.

We, uh, didn't get a lot of girls. OK, any girls. Shut up.

Mutant League Football. Why this game hasn't been remade on a modern system baffles me and pisses me off.

    Anyone remember the Sega Channel?

It was a premium service (like HBO) through the cable company. And they'd have a multitude of games that rotated through each month.

If there was a world-wide NHL '94 tournament for Sega Genesis, I'm willing to bet I would win.

I played the crap out of the original Joe Montana. I remember that I was amazed that it had ply by play, which was actually Lon Simmons, whom I think was the 49er PBP guy at the time, saying something like 8 phrases.

By the way, you could score a touchdown on the flea flicker every time.

I, also, did not date much, or at all.

That game was awesome. You could also knock down a pass from approximately 15 yards away from the QB. I remember playing the hell out of that and Streets of Rage at my friend Daniel's house in high school.

And no, there were no girls to be found at that house.

I would always be Cleveland, because Eric Metcalf was the running back and you could run the ball pretty well if you chose not to pass it.

My favorite phrase: Picked off. What a mistake.
