Why weren't Marlins required to interview white candidates?

So the Marlins fire Joe Girardi and turn around and hire Fredi Gonzalez. Apparently the deal with Gonzalez had been in the works, so they didn't have to interview anyone? If the Marlins had fired Gonzalez and hired Girardi without interview anyone else, they'd be under fire right now. Why is this OK? There are several white candidates more qualified than Gonzalez that didn't get interviewed.

Fredi looks pretty white to me.

    Wow.

Snoopy, do you know anything about Fredi Gonzalez, other than his hispanic last name?

Sorry you got passed over Snoopy. I'm sure you'll get the next one. Make sure to point out your Irish Wolfhound blood.

The Marlins' last white manager was an asshole, so they were given a pass.

Unfortunately they didn't hire from within. Freddy was coaching third for the Braves organization this season. So you can throw that out.

As always, if you need the tool/font/cuecards/interpreter....probably just shouldn't go there.

Gonzalez was also a very very close second when Girardi got the job.

If you just had a job search a year ago and the position comes open again, of course you're going to look at the last job search to save time and money.

And if you decide to use sarcasm anyway, it helps to wave your arms in an exaggerated manner so everyone is clued in.

    Nice try.
    Next time, use the following:
    I'm an alcholic
    A clergyman molested me

    Seems to work nationally.
