See, it's the celebrating aspect that I do not get.

These poor Jews are forced out of Egypt in the middle of the night, surrounded by plagues and pestilence....and for the next FORTY YEARS, they're going to schlep around the desert with Moses, who walks them straight into a sea.

On the upside, four decades of constipation from the matza is probably worth celebrating, since there was not a single place to take a crap in private.

    It was a desert, girl.
There are plenty of private places in deserts.

My family's big seder is this Saturday. We have people traveling in (including me) and couldn't swing it on a weeknight. My mom is not much of a cook, but she makes the best matzo balls I've ever tasted. I've taken over the making of the side dishes because I couldn't take another Passover with horrendous frozen packaged kugel. Yecch.

Tonight I'm going to my friend's house. She's having her seder catered. I'm hoping it's good.

To all my Jewish SportsJournalists.com friends: schedule your cholosterol screening now. After a week of eating a gazillion eggs (almost every recipe I came across involved multiple), you'll need it!

I'm going to ask Aunt Bea. She swears she was there.

Some of you will notice some pruning was done to this thread. Incredibly, a Passover thread couldn't get past the first page without someone directing accusations at another poster, suggesting said poster was here only to make things worse on the thread. I saw no good reason for the post, and the brief interplay between the two is gone.

I realize this thread is meant to put something of a light spin on an otherwise somber and serious holy day, but out of respect to 21, who started the thread, and to the rest of the SportsJournalists.com Jewish community, please: No personal attacks here. In other words, Happy Passover, if that's possible.

    Thanks.

She always seemed like a total shiksa to me. But, you can never tell who's Jewish.
