Why is football not in the winter Olympics?

    I don't think much of the TV watching public would care to watch a football game composed of players that are maybe good enough to play JUCO ball.

    A sport must have a minimum of 70 countries with membership in its International Federation before the IOC will even consider it for Olympic inclusion.

    And, as I mentioned, football isn't played on snow or ice so it's not eligible for inclusion in the Winter Games.

    Move along.

    Are you telling me there are 70 countries that watch curling and biathlon and bobsledding more than football? I don't think so, it would benefit the Olympics to have football in it, it would draw the biggest crowds.

    Also it is a winter sport that can be played in snow:
