People tend to have strong opinions about these issues.

Key buzzwords to identify a thread you know is going to fail, usually in a lockup:

    *Rush
    *Liberal media
    *Vince Foster
    *Blowjob
    *Yawn
*"I was watching (fill in the blank) Hannity & Colmes/Hardball/Fox News/O'Reilly..."

Yawn is a stain to this board that needs a dose of Mr. Clean.

More importantly people have closed minds and they have arguments in their heads about certain subjects and spew them before they actually read what someone else actually wrote.

And any time there is a social issue, the emotions of people tend to make them lose their minds.

Threads on political issues are always gonna turn argumentative, that's just their nature. Some nastiness has to be tolerated or the site might as well have a rule banning political topics altogether.

My opinion is termination shouldn't happen unless the thread descends off topic and into juvenile name calling. I think the mods have had a bit of an itchy trigger finger with a couple threads recently.

    Nine letters: ANONYMITY.

The people on here who sully threads do it because they can. When you can hide behind a username, it's easy to be a dick, a know-it-all, a know-it-all dick ... You get the idea. And before dools or anyone else rides in on their high horse to defend the virute of being anonymous, I am in no way saying anonymity in general is a bad thing, just that it allows people who want to be irresponsible, loudmouth jackasses to run wild in cyberspace.
