With today's medical technology, I honestly think the only difference between an ACL and an MCL is recovery time. Twenty years ago ACL repairs were finally being done correctly, and in the 20 years since the advances have been off the charts.

Players are coming back and performing at their previous levels all the time now. The only difference right now is the rehab time is longer.

After ACL injuries, what happened to these players?

    Al Jefferson? Worse.
    Kendrick Perkins? Worse.
    David West? Worse.
    Bonzi Wells? Worse.
    Jamal Crawford? Same.
    Al Harrington? Same.

Sorry to say this, but it's unlikely he will be "100 percent" the same player. He's probably the most talented basketball player to suffer an injury like this in the the post-Jordan era, so we'll see if that talent can overcome a decline, but it's kind of wishful thinking to pretend this will have no affect on his game going forward. He may simply get better in other areas, but he also might not.

No ACL tear is the same. All the doctors who have talked are saying Rose will be fine.

I'm doubt you'd feel the same way if he was a Laker. There is a difference between "fine" and "one of the most explosive players on the planet." Let's check back in 3 years and see what his per-36 minute averages are. I bet they're still down across the board.

His greatest skill is to beat anyone in the league off of the dribble. It is hard to believe that he will have that same explosiveness coming off of a major injury.

Not sure how you can say Jamal Crawford or Al Harrington was the same. Before their injuries, Crawford was a rookie who barely contributed and Harrington was on the verge of breaking out. Who knows what they might have been?

Crawford never seemed to lack for athleticism, but you're right. Maybe he would have been Vince Carter. Harrington's numbers basically equaled his pre-injury ones, but you may be correct again. The expectation at that point was certainly not that he'd hit his ceiling.

So basically everyone is a little worse.

    Forget this point guard crap.

Marques Johnson wants to know who the best point forward is.

And if no one antes up?

Being that Marques Johnson predates Paul Pressey, you would be wrong.

    John Johnson precedes both.

Spare me the fanboi shit, DD. I don't recall shaking my dick any time the Lakers lost. At least, sure as hell not recently.
