That's your only contribution to this thread? There have been unbelievable things said.

I have lost faith in you.

Fair enough, 'gola. Obviously, their Japanese League careers don't have any bearing on the HOF -- but I do think it's pretty cool that he's about to hit a combined 3,000 at such a young age. Very Rose-like. ... That said, I think he's done more than enough in MLB alone to be in the HOF once he hits 10 years. ... And Matsui really has done very little in MLB, comparatively. But it'll be cool when he reaches a combined 500, too. ... Shows you just how great these guys are, both in Japan and now over here.

I've had other things on my mind tonight, jerkface. I'll come up with my list momentarily.

Are we talking one of the four major sports — NBA, MLB, NFL, MLB? Or, some obscure professional title?

Major four. I'm assuming you meant NHL instead of MLB twice.

This is for Angola, the big jerk.

IN w/my vote if I had one: Maddux, Glavine, Rivera, R. Johnson, A-Rod, Griffey, Chipper Jones, I. Rodriguez, Ramirez

IN after the first ballot (yes, there is a difference between the first ballot inductees and everyone else): Vizquel, Schilling, F. Thomas

IN but w/o my vote: Smoltz (I can be swayed on this), Jeter (not on this one)

NO w/ or w/o my vote: Hoffman, Wagner (seriously? Billy Wagner?), Kent, Thome

Have to think seriously about: Mussina

Has a ton of ground to make up and not a lot of time: Ortiz

In as soon as they hit 10 years: Pujols, Suzuki

    For the Thome naysayers:

    .280, 526 HR, 1,455 RBIs, .408 OBP, .562 slugging

His OPS+ is 149, meaning he was 49 percent better than the average major-league hitter during his career.
He won't be first-ballot, but Jim Thome absolutely is a Hall of Famer.

Is there a second baseman within a zip code of Kent on the career homer list?

    Didn't think so.
