Solid point, and I agree in principle. But ... 1.) it's really not about need and 2.) where the Super Bowl is concerned, there's no such thing as enough. Oh, and 3.) There was a stretch of Super Bowls where the games were absolute yawners.

Here's a question: Has every primary act since Janet Jackson been male? I'm sure somebody here keeps track of these things.

As for Buffett, he lost me when he stated publicly that he doesn't drink margaritas. Poser.

    Has Billy Joel done it?

If not, he'd seem the likeliest from Mizzou's list, especially if he paired with Elton John.

From the thread title, though, I thought we were going to get "Total Mass Retain" at halftime.

    JR:

You should go. Even if you don't especially enjoy JB's music, it's a great show.

I just can't separate the act from the fans -- drunk yuppies wearing neckties as headbands (if it's a work night), doing conga lines.

I could have sworn that Bon Jovi was doing the Super Bowl this year. I guess not.

Thing is, the people on the field during the halftime show are handpicked to be there. They're not just dyed-in-the-wool fans. They're plants who are told when to cheer.

Yeah, I meant a typical Buffett concert, not the Super Bowl.

Prince has already done a Super Bowl.

The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac would also appeal to the SB demo.
