"Raining In My Heart" didn't keep Buddy Holly out.

Barely being able to carry a tune didn't keep The Ronettes out.

But what am I saying? Jann Wenner runs the show, which means logic, good taste and fair dealings will always give way to back-scratching and curious improprieties. Unless you believe that Rock Hall voters really selected Grandmaster Flash over the Dave Clark Five - naturally, Wenner's yes-men vehemently deny any vote fixing, which by itself should be enough to raise suspicions.

No dissing on Buddy Holly now. Man never made a bad song.

Two of those are in the Rock Hall, maybe not Springfield. But I'll give you the Faces.

I agree with the Pixies sort of. Tons of bands cite them as influences, so it's more of a mainstream overrating.

Uncle Tupelo was a good choice, I'll go with the Pernice Brothers and Ted Leo in terms of modern bands.

  11. The Kinks and The Animals are good choices.

Since they are taken, I'll say The Alarm.
