I agree on Beltran. The guy parlayed one great postseason with the Astros into a fortune.

    Or maybe Garcia.

He's not been great on the Mets, but he had three-consecutive solid seasons with the Royals.

Solid years but not $119 Million years.

    Verlander

Maybe not the most overrated, but he immediately came to mind.

One minute, 16 seconds. Took longer than I thought it would.

Where are the defenders of Captain Intangibles, anyway? They are overdue. :)

I would go with Beltran. He just hasn't been the same player he was with Kansas City and Houston since signing with the Mets.

I'm not sure if Chamberlain is overrated outside of New York, but the hype is definitely out of proportion for his accomplishments.

    It's that obvious.

Beltran seems like the poster child for taking the big guaranteed money and then losing the fire. He just doesn't seem to care, and is the most unclutch "superstar" I've seen. Strikes out in big spots way too much, usually with the bat on his shoulder.

As long as he is the big money building block the Mets are doomed.

the jeter haters -- and their lack of baseball acumen -- are not worth the time it takes to address them.
