    Ben Howland has done a great job at every stop. He will win it all at UCLA.

    Every coach who played VCU knew Maynor was doing something late.
    Howland was ready and had something that actually worked.

    Are we talking pure Xs and Os? Or is recruiting and everything else part of the package? If you want to talk about simply coming up with a good strategy that puts your players in position to win, Gary Williams has to be in the mix. For having such a ratshit team with no talent, he's 2-1 against Final Four teams this year. But if you want to talk about the entirety of everything, uh, he's a little lacking right now in some areas.

    The fact that Mike Krzyzewski hasn't been mentioned yet - and guys like Ben Howland and Bob Huggins have - is rather disturbing.

    Chalk that up to the "what have you done for me lately" argument. Since the 2001 championship, he's made it past the Sweet 16 only once, when Duke made the 2004 Final Four. And it's not like he lacks McDonald's All-American talent.

    But I guess Izzo would be first if he had the benefit of doing some of the things the UCONN program has done. Paying for players' meals, training, etc.

    No, but he has lacked a legitimate post player since Williams. And Williams wasn't on the level of guys like Boozer and Brand before him. Also, they've rarely had an explosive scorer, outside of Henderson for about a 15 game stretch this season.
