Al wasn't at the game, Raiders finished up strong.

Potential game plan for 2009 right there.

Bucs. They should've marauded them every which way but loose.

Russell's final three games.... 6 TD, 2 INT

The Raiders got better at the end, but the Bucs have to win that at home. And that punctuates an awful December for them. The Jets get all the attention, but the Bucs was every bit as bad, and their last game was more winnable than the Jets'.

Honorable mention: Arizona. Great start, piss-their-pants finish. Yeah, they made the playoffs because with the exception of San Diego down the stretch, the NFL West Coast teams were butt-ass awful.

Unless I'm mistaken, no one was touting the 8-3 Bucs as a Super Bowl contender, whereas some (though not all) thought the Jets thumping of the Titans was proof positive that they'd represent the AFC. Remember the questions about how the NFL would do the championship games if both NY teams had home field?

Guess we don't have to worry about that now.

Still about 80 lbs overweight and with a horrible throwing motion.

Russell is a bad Vince Young.

Not only did the Broncos choke, but they lost to the Chiefs, Jaguars and Raiders, the latter two at home. Not. Even. Close.

Raiders didn't really finish strong. Yeah, they beat Houston 27-16 last week, but the two weeks before that they were a horrible (49-26 to the Patriots and 34-7 to the Chargers).

How Houston lost to them is a head-scratcher, but good shit happens, even to the crappiest of teams.

Picking Chicago to lose at Houston or Minnesota to lose at home was much easier to do this week. Minnesota was thisclose to losing, too..

But the lock of the week ("that's a big lock" /Homer Simpson) was Tampa Bay.
