I'm sure your buddy Whitlock appreciates you keeping readers visiting his employer's Web site by copying-and-pasting the whole column here.

    I agree, of course.

I prefer to look at it the other way, given Dean Smith's KU roots.

. . . and pout, whine and tear up.

    THAT's quality television.

Just throwing this out there, but would Kyle Singler be given 1/10th the attention by national media if he played for (or signed with) NC State or Penn State?

Before you answer, the kid only shot 41% from the floor this season.

Yeah but he's a white guy playing for Duke.

Some of my favorite Duke players:
    Mark Allarie
    Danny Ferry
    Christan Latner
    Cherokee Parks
    JJ Reddick

You have to love the smarmy white guys.

Your power outage include a vowel outage?

Waiting for a delivery of vowels from Sean Penn in his row boat.

Not to mention an excess of consonants. He misspelled 3 out of 5 names there.

    No, he wouldn't. Obviously.

But using his shooting percentage against him like that is rather misleading. His percentage is skewed because he's the guy Duke goes to for it's most difficult shots. Kobe Bryant has never shot above 45 percent, yet he's probably been the best shooter in the world for years now. There's a reason why great shooters often have lower percentages than bad shooters who are only allowed to shoot when they're wide open or have a dunk.
