Lots of heads about to roll in Utah. Not good at all

Mark Willes was the guy at the LA Times in the early 90s, wasn't he?

Subject line assumes you can get beer in Utah ...

A lot easier than some places in Texas. Utah's liquor laws were liberalized quite a bit a few years ago.

I could see this coming. There's just not enough ad revenue to go around. There used to be a full Utah County bureau and edition that was gutted a few years ago.

Mark Willes heads this paper's company? Wow.

Thought he'd disappeared after floating away from the L.A. Times with his $60 million golden parachute.

The LDS Church, IMHO, doesn't want to subsidize a purely-local product when there is a worldwide membership, with most members living outside of the U.S. now.

Especially after the whole Staples Center fiasco, I would have thought Willes wouldn't have much credibility.

Then I remembered, this is the newspaper industry.
