    Cafe Maspero has excellent jambalaya. Their gumbo isn't bad either.

    My favorite off-the-beaten path place is Franky and Johnny's in the Warehouse district. It's on Arabella right off Tchoupitoulas Street. It was quite good the last time I went about 2 years ago, but I've heard some negative reviews since.
