  1. The way the Feds screw La. out of the oil money is criminal. Maybe JD or some other La. local can help me with the specifics here, but I think Texas gets oil money for something like 75 miles out from its coast. 75 versus 3!!

    Our "On Demand" Movie Network has it on now. Started watching it last night an finished watching it this morning.

    Incredibly moving.

    A couple of things: Wendell Pierce (Bunk from the Wire) as interviewed numerous times and told a heart wrenching story about his parent's home (that was pretty much destroyed) and Allstate Insurance. As Pierce, said, there will be a special circle in hell for those people.

    Spotted a great t-shirt an evacuee was wearing: "Katrina Evacuation Plan: Run, Motherfucker, Run"

    FWIW, FEMA's incompetence in this instance was nothing new. The folks here are still bitter about how shitty a job it did in Hugo, and that's more than 15 years ago.
