What's the BEST state in the union?

True. It's not like New York City and Olean, NY, have a lot in common.

Beaches and no state income tax = Florida.

If only there was a way to make hurricanes extinct.

I would love to move back to NJ, but it's too dang expensive.

I loved WNY, but the taxes are too high.

I loved Virginia, but the summers suck.

The Northern Plains have great summers, but the November-April winter and 30 below are a bitch. Same with Wyoming.

The PNW is beautiful, summers are out of this world, but the constant gray/gloom from November through April/May can be a drag and my state is about to fall into economic free-fall.

All things considered, I'll stay where I am, realize the good outweighs the bad, and make the best of it.

Sums it up. And the weather is fantastic. The most under-rated part about living here, along the Front Range. A little harsher in the winter where Madhavok is, but when you're at 9,600 feet, that's to be expected.

    What's the definition of "best"?

These threads are good for padding post counts, but little else.

Utah followed by Iowa followed but Ohio. Honorable mention to Alabama, Alaska and Maine.

Think I might have to agree with the Colorado voters. The snowy winter weather might be a big turnoff IF you're not a skier. But, beyond that, can't see much downside to living in gorgeous Colorado.

I moved to the CO for snowboarding and my current job/lifestyle, but am falling in love with summers here. Ironically, I have a hard time being in Denver in the summer. Just too damn hot.

Those states are hard to spell.
