A buddy of mine turned me on to Big Audio Dynamite, which in turn turned me on to the old Clash stuff.

Best Jam / Clash combined list:
    10. Clampdown — Clash
    9. That's Entertainment (import version) — Jam
    8. London Calling — Clash
    7. Train In Vain — Clash (so sue me)
    6. David Watts — Jam
    5. Straight To Hell — Clash
    4. The Bitterest Pill (I Had To Swallow) — Jam
    3. Beat Surrender — Jam
    2. Guns of Brixton — Clash
    1. Eton Rifles — Jam

"The Card Cheat" is probably Mick Jones' best vocal performance ever. Great hidden gem, that one.

When I was teaching English in Mexico, for some reason I used "Janie Jones" in one of my lessons...I frequently introduced the class to a song in English at the end of a class session. It was fun teaching them the lyrics. "He's in love with rock-and-roll, whoa...he's in love with getting stoned, whoa...he's in love with Janie Jones, whoa...he don't like his boring job!" That class was mostly teenagers.
