As promised I returned to the bank where the teller gave me the extra $100 bill. Yes she did remember me and she accurately recalled the transaction.
Bottom line, I returned the bill to the bank.

This never happened. And your first trip to the bank never happened either.

What would I do? For starters, I would not walk out of the bank with an extra $100.

I believe the tellers have to make up the difference if their draw is short at the end of the night.

    That is not true.

It's also not true that a teller would take $100 from somebody claiming to have been overpaid the day before.

Right on both parts, which is why I initially went to the branch manager , explained the situation, and the branch manager called her over.
Bottom line, all is well and best of all, no one got fired (at least while I was there).

You should have just put your boots on and walked on out that door and gone to HR.

You left before HR got involved.

    Should they have been involved?

So instead of just giving the woman the extra $100 she mistakenly gave you, you got her boss involved and made her look incompetent.

    Nice good deed, Drip.
