My kid has a MAD subscription....it's pretty much the same as it ever was. Not necessarily in a good way -- you see The Dark Knight on the cover, you can pretty much predict what jokes they're going to use.

But when you're a teenager and it's all fresh to you, it's great.

Had a subscription as a kid, and it used to come in a brown paper wrapper, just like some other magazines that I couldn't subscribe to at that age.

And well done on the thread title.

Heck, even Ross Perot is saying that.

Their Broadway-musical takeoffs were hysterical (and fortunately, remain available in book form), and
any movie satire illustrated by the immortal Mort Drucker was and is worth reading.

Asked about the size of his severence package, Neumann replied "Cheap!"

There's at least one biography of William M. Gaines. "Eccentric" doesn't begin to describe him.

"Good Days & Mad" by Dick DeBartolo is the one I've read. Hilarious stuff

Maybe not coincidence that one of the syndicated Simpsons in my area today was the one where the secret Navy recruiter forms a boy band including Bart, Milhouse, Nelson and Ralph, and then bombs Mad Magazine HQ to avoid a cover spoof.
