With that kind of money...I'd do better than Posh.

How much leverage do you have over employers when you detail your salary history? If you made "X" amount at one shop or another place before, in the same capacity, would they give you "X+Y" more? In a perfect world, I am sure it would work out. But what about in the real world?

Enough to buy the Cleveland Cavaliers.

    Never detail your salary history.

"So, Mayfly, what are you making?"

    "Mid-20s."

    Let them guess.

    Wicked, thanks for the advice.

As for me, $50K is a realistic figure for me, being a 25-year-old single (for now?) male in NJ. But I'd love to make $150K: not too much that I'd lose touch with reality, but enough that I'd be able to pay off everything I owe quickly, get a new car and move into a nice apartment, townhouse or condo.

Right now I'm still making under $1K/yr for my age. I get a raise that puts me right up with my age, then I hit my birthday and fall behind again. I'd like to make ... more than that.

Granted I have just recently been hired for my first full-time job in the field, and I'm working in a small market with a pretty low cost of living, but I'd be happy with $25,000 at this point.
