What is the best band to come out since 2000?

I'm surprised that I've never heard of most of these "Best Bands." To me, that seems like it's impossible for them to be such without any kind of notoriety/staying power.

The best I could come up with is Coldplay. I don't know that it's true, however.

I saw BRMC in concert a couple of years back. Not bad. I really like the song "Fault Line."

I'm a big fan of Lostprophets. Have seen them live twice and would do it again in a heartbeat.

I don't think they're the best, but TAB are pretty damn good.

I wanted to vote Muse, but apparently they've been since the mid-90s, and only recently got big in the States.

They actually got together in 1997, but didn't release anything until 2000. I'm not sure that would count. They certainly didn't hit it big until "Start Something," which is a criminally underrated album, in my opinion.

As said a few times before ... the answer to this question is and always will be "The White Stripes." Even though they got going officially in '97, didn't hit mainstream until '01 I think.

Either way, they're it. Bottom line. Lock the thread.

Except for those of us who can't stand their music. Thread unlocked, I say.
