A friend has asked me to be his son's godfather. So in addition to plotting to have all my family's enemies killed while I'm at the church, I have to get the wee lad a gift.

My wife says since I'm the godfather, it has to be a "good" gift. So, I guess I'm looking between $50-100, right? And, since I'm the godfather, she says I have to pick it out. Any ideas?

A really nice bible would be a good gift.

A "Damon Sucks" baby bib would be perfect.

Or a Diaper Genie (keeps the loaded diapers from smelling up the house.)

Usually cash isn't a good gift, but I think in this case a Savings Bond might be good.

Some kind of regular baby gift is good plus a savings bond.
Let your wife pick the baby gift. They're better at that kind of thing.

$100  is on the low end....you're the Godfather.  It's a big deal, especially if a friend is asking you.   I'm the godfather to 2 kids, I started a savings account for both and put $100 into the account on every B-day, or big event.  When they're 18 and I present them they're account with $2000, they'll be pretty happy.
