He might need it soon. Lots of snow melt. Kinda like the polar ice caps.

It was 10 degrees with five inches of snow here last week.

Today _ 66, with tornado watch that was just cancelled.

Old Tony forgets that some of the effects of global warming are warm areas getting warmer, wet areas getting wetter, dy areas getting dryer and cold areas get colder.

When Buffalo was swamped with seven feet of snow or whatever it was a couple years ago, part of it was due to lake effect snow because the lakes weren't frozen, and therefore the storm picked up more precipitation and strength. The lake wasn't frozen because of - wait for it - global warming.

Please don't contribute to the argument against global warming by citing isolated examples. That's exactly the tactic opponents use against it. Instead, point out, as Pete did, that the ridiculous swings in weather might be a sign that things are askew.

The fact that it's 60 today in Connecticut is not evidence of global warming. The fact that it's 60, then 12, then 60, then -8, then 72, then -10, is a sign that things are fucked up.

Bah ... I sat on my deck and watched the girls run by in sports bras on Sunday afternoon.
Today I wore a short-sleeved polo and mandals to work. Tomorrow it will be more of the same. I keep waiting for the cold to hit, and have had it in spots, but this has been crazy inconsistent.
