    Reminds me of a story -- didn't happen to me btw. Maybe an urban legend.

    Guy waiting for a cab in the rain. Beautiful woman comes up behind him also wanting a cab. Cab comes. Guy, being a gentleman, insists the woman take it. Woman says thank you then adds "We can share if you want." Man politely declines.

    Cab starts to pull away. Stops, backs up. woman says out of the window. "I guess we'll never know what would have happened if we'd shared this cab." Then drove off.

    I think the guy stepped in front of the next cab that came along.
