Did Jenkins or Sutton ever win a Cy Young?

    Glavine is a first-ballot lock.

Mussina will have an outside chance.

If Pedro retires today, he's a lock. Same for Smoltz.

Well, Mussina pitched in the American League his entire career, so he obviously faced better lineups. His ERA against league average is better than Glavine's. As for wins, Glavine pitched on playoff teams virtually every season. Mussina pitched on some mediocre Orioles teams in his prime. Despite that fact, Mussina has a better career win percentage, if you're swayed by such things (wins are a team-dependent stat).

If you look at the things a pitcher can control ....

    K/BB ratio ... Mussina
    H/9 ... Glavine
    WHIP ... Mussina
    ERA+ ... Mussina

They have roughly the same number of complete games and shutouts.

You know how every one has their list of people they wish they'd seen in their prime?

Pedro is mine. Hands down. I remember watching games and feeling the electricity through the TV when he was in a zone. It was like any time he took the mound, ANYTHING could happen.
