I think Mike Munchak is gone after the season.
Jim Schwartz is on thin ice.

Agree on both. I think Munchak, Rivera, Allen, Ryan, Garrett and Schwartz are really the coaches who have to win now or be fired.

I think if Philbin and Frazier had horrible seasons they might be added to that list.

But the Panthers could be looking at an 0-5 start. I don't know if Jerry Richardson can take that.

That's where things get sticky... Is there an assistant on Carolina's staff who they want to see how he would do as an interim HC?

I may be forgetting someone, but I think Jeff Fisher is the only HC in the last 20 years to take over on an interim basis and go on to a successful coaching career at that job. Leslie Frazier has done pretty well, but I'd like to see if he's there in 2-3 years before I label it successful. (I don't think Arians really counts...).

Romeo Crennel, Mike Singletary, Jim Bates...

Richardson has often said he's on limited time, with a heart transplant or whatever he has.
I can see him pulling the trigger.
They have 2-8 starts in each of the last two seasons.

And Fisher is barely inside the 20-year window (November 1994). Two other examples from further back are Marv Levy and Marty Schottenheimer (in Cleveland).

Yeah, I'd forgotten about Schottenheimer. I'd have to check, but I don't think Levy was interim when he was hired mid-season. I may be wrong...

Levy in Buffalo? Or Kansas City?

Buffalo. Hired when Hank Bullough started the 1986 season 2-7.
