Anyone under 35 should jump on this one.
You won't ever get to cover nearly as big a wide array of events/teams as you can here. Until a couple years ago this was the only paper in the state that covered every Iowa, Iowa St. and UNI home & away football game. It still covers about 2/3 of Iowa games.

If you know InDesign and can hold your own with it, you're in ...

Also, Lee Enterprises -- which it's a part of -- made the biggest internet profit of any paper chain in the nation last year. By far. At least according to a recent articile I read.

Rumor has it the stack of resumes is getting fairly sizeable for this gig. Sounds like they're gonna wait maybe 2 more weeks for all to come in though ...

This is a pretty good job and it should have a large stack of decent-to-pretty good resumés. If you're unemployed or displaced and want back in the game, it's a great gig. If you are young, working at a 10k circulation community rag and want to take that next step, this is a great move. This job makes sense from so many angles. It's both a potential finishing destination for midwestern people looking for a solid job in a smaller market or a stepping stone for those looking to bridge the gap between where they are and the major metros

That being said, I didn't apply... I'll take visiting there if my team has to play their team again...

There's still a bit of time left to send stuff in for here. But the resume pile is reaching Leaning-Tower-of-Pisa proportions ...

  9. Well, hopefully that tower collapses and some of those applications disappear. Except for mine, of course. ;)

It's fourth quarter time here fellas (and ladies). If you're sitting on the fence, its now or never.
Rumor has it there's at least a couple superb candidates.

Rumor has it interviews are starting this week. If you want to make a last-ditch effort, you'd best email your resume/clips.

I believe the editor's name is Doug Newhoff. You'd have to google is email addy ...
