Was baseball meant to be played in cold weather?

    And yet, you still might get snow in Boston, New York Cleveland, Detroit, etc.

    True, Oz, you might. I live in Detroit ... we had snow flurries on May 1 two years ago.

    Yes an exta 1/4 inch spike would probably do wonders to prevent snowfall and warm everyone up.

    Oct. 1 - Oct. 8???

    And if it goes 7 games, you play 7 games in 8 days? Not sure I understand the benefits of doing that, unless you really care that much about shortening the careers of a lot of pitchers and players overall. These guys are humans, not machines, for pete's sake. It's October. They've been playing for 8 months. Giving them a day or two off in a seven game series isn't that big of a deal.

    If your doing doubleheaders, do them on Saturdays instead of Sundays. And if they're twi-night, you still don't lose money from ticket sales. Maybe a bit from concessions, though, since Joe can only drink 6 beers, not 10.
