    Just saw the extradition hearing, and the dude was surrounded by what looked like a full swat team. I was wondering how a polygomist was so desperately guarded, and then I heard that among his 10,000 followers, he essentially has a swat team of his own.
    That shit's fucked up.

    I just began reading "Under the Banner of Heaven," the 2003 Jon Krakauer book about a double homicide in the Arizona town where Jeffs is king ... a lot of background about Mormonism and the fundamentalist offshoot of which Jeffs is the spiritual leader. Wild stuff.

    It is hard to look at Jeffs and think of him as among the 10 most wanted.

    He's creepy looking, in a slight John Karr kind of way, but there's nothing menacing about him -- unless you're under 15, I guess.
