People sure are egotistical about their birthdays in recent years, especially pro athletes. Why does every birthday party require a club, flyers, invitations, a party planner and P.R.?

And people wonder why he can't get an NFL job. Simple, really. With that kind of discipline, you can't trust him with much of anything.

I live in a poor community. And yet I see Facebook posts all the time of people renting out bowling alleys/rooms with inflatables/roller rinks for their children on their 4th and 5th birthdays.

One day, I *might* have children.

And those children will get a birthday with Little Caesar's pizza and ice cream.

    We're such a stupid country.

Not for anything, but those kinds of birthdays usually aren't that expensive. When I was living with my ex, she was unemployed for awhile and her daughter's birthday was coming up. We rented out a pizza place that had an arcade and the total cost for the party, including food, favors, decorations and tokens for the kids to play games was under $200. We had to scrap together every extra cent we had at the time, but we made it work and the birthday girl didn't stop smiling for days. Maybe the best $200 I've ever spent.

Vince Young should have made me his financial advisor.

If you have a core of kids that your child is on a birthday rotation for, like mine who has about 10 parties a year for birthdays, and they all throw a good party, you try to tell yourself that spending $300-$350 on my daughter's party will be paid back when she goes to all the other parties for free.

And for some people, they would rather spend money on their children rather than themselves.

Bump for the much-anticipated bankruptcy filing. Assets between $500,000 and $1 million, liabilities between $1 million and $10 million.
