Here's his press conference. You be the judge.

Eager to hear Buckweaver's thoughts, but here are mine:

I argued that he should have retired long before this renaissance season, because the Packers, at some point, were going to have to move on. this seemed to be the perfect time, with a good team in a weak division to ease Rodgers in.

Rodgers doesn't have to be Brett Favre this season for the Pack to be successful; it's ideal for him.

And now this. From all I've read/seen, Rodgers seems to be confident, but this crap can't help.

    Brett: Retire. Please.

A retired football coach I know in Wisky is a huge Packer guy. After Favre retired I called him and asked if he was ready for 16 weeks of Aaron Rogers.

"Nobody's ready for 16 weeks of Aaron Rogers" was his reply.

See if he was coming back to a crappy team, then I wouldn't want him to come back. But the Packers are very solid. If Ryan Grant can come through for the whole season and that defense plays like they did last year, they have great chance to make the SB. So looking at that, I say you have to come back to give it at least one more try.

P.S. And come on guys, how can you not want Brett Favre to keep playing. There's nothing like Monday Night Football with Brett Favre. Nothing.

    Favre + retirement = fail.

Meant to add to my initial comment that I was, obviously, wrong about Favre retiring a few years back.

But the franchise, IMHO, needs to move on.

  12. Yeah, the division tore him a new one last year.

    He's not coming back.
