Vanity plates are only alowed if you also have a scotum totem hanging from the back of your vehicle.

Florida has special golf plates, saw one the other day with BAD GFR on it. I respect that in sea of otherwise lame golf vanity plates.

"Bob's MG" and the "Move it" in reverse are brilliant.

The best one I saw was back in my college days in the 80s: "IV NIK 8"

I later heard the California DMV pulled the plug on this one. A shame, really.

I remember a game show called Bumper Stumpers, based on deciphering vanity plates. Tough as hell. Then again, it was Canadian, so there's that.

Wow, the new Ohio plates are terrible (not that the old ones weren't). Invest some money in your primary plate so it doesn't look like a spread from a digitally-illustrated children's book.

I am basically in rebellion since so many states started going to the flat, plastic plates over the last five years. Plastic plates for plastic cars, I guess.

For one, the lack of relief at certain angles and in certain light conditions makes it much harder for anyone to read plate numbers. Additionally, the combination of countless different specialty plate designs further complicate the difficulty in reading and recognizing plate numbers/letters. Public safety takes a back seat to celebrating 4-H or the state historical society or the Freemasons, I guess.

Yeah, I wasn't thrilled with the design myself. I grew up in Michigan...give me a nice metal blue plate with white letters please!
Of course in Michigan, people will but plates to support Mich. St., Michigan, Eastern Mich or Central Mich. and all of them use a single block letters...so people try to get creative with them and spell off the school's letter. (Can't find any examples on a quick search, but here is the MSU plate):

I had to have my plate "reviewed" before I got it and had to explain why I picked "Chiquet" before I could get it...do they not do that everywhere?

I want this to be real so much that I'd be willing to send Moddy the money in the mail to make it happen.

I wish I could get HANGUPNDRIV. Every time I see a driver on a cell phone I secretly wish they'd get hit by a meteor.
