Add rugby league to the list of sports in which Americans are ruining the rest of the world's fun.

    League is not real rugby.

Good thing there's an ocean between us. A fair few people in this newsroom would disagree vehemently.

Union and League are very different games. League is somewhat similar to American football as I understand it.
By the way, there's also a book out now called "Helmets not required" about a group of ex-college football players in the 1950's or 60's who toured the world playing rugby league. They held their own against teams in Australia and New Zealand.

I think we had this Rugby discussion a while back. League is a more TV friendly game, could see it eventually catching on.

    Here's the book I mentioned.

After American football gets sued out of existence, rugby may be what we're left with in another 40 years.

Might not be all bad. Maybe guys will be more reticent to launch themselves at others like human torpedoes once they don't have all that body armor to protect them.

I'll believe USA is a rugby power once their AI settings on EA Rugby 2005 for my PS2 are higher.

USA currently playing Australia in the quarterfinals. It will be a victory if they can score -- and in the early going they've come close a couple times.
