I wish Matthews called Meyer out. The Gators won national titles before Meyer got there, they'll win after he's gone.

I'm stunned that Matthews has time for this, given that he's the head coach of the Florida team in the All-American Football League.

Bu, bu... he said 'we' and 'our' a lot. Doesn't that mean he's a true Gator?

For what it's worth, Matthews has been blasting everything about Meyer and Dan Mullen's approach to offense and QB play since they arrived, first as a guest on shows and now as a host. This article makes it seem like this comment was triggered by one incident after the Ole Miss game, but it had been building for quite a while. Not sure why Meyer thought it was a smart move to speak about this in public though.

Maybe Adrian Cronauer was talking about Urban Meyer.

Meyer's won more titles than Spurrier. Does that mean he's a better coach?

No. But Matthews was the QB when UF won its first SEC title. He established the benchmark for UF QBs. He's got a right to his opinion.

Technically, he was QB when UF won its first SEC title not to later be forfeited. Hey! to Charley Pell.

No technically about it. Pell bought players en masse to win in 1984. It should have been forfeited.
Don't put an asterisk on UF's title in 1991.

Seems like everybody was buying players en masse in the mid-1980s. Ah, the good ol' days ...

What about an asterisk for the Spurrier title? Half the team was getting paid by Tank Black.
