With the clout that the Cuban community carries in Miami, you have to wonder if Guillen's job is in jeopardy for this comment made to Time magazine. He was referring to Casto's longevity, not his politics. Not sure it matters. Guillen is flying back to Miami after a Marlins road game today to address people and try to calm things down. Job-saving maneuver? It seems like that might be the case.

Got there a tad too late to hear it all. Ozzie needs a dose of STFU. He's been needing a dose for a long time.
It's possible that comment could make his stay in Miami extremely brief.

Not sure if he'll lose his job, but of all the ridiculous things Ozzie has said, he'll never top this. I don't think there's anything worse he could say in that community. Supremely stupid.

That's just absolutely fantastic. Like YGBFKM said, that's probably the worst possible thing he could have said in Miami, and it took him less than a week to do it.

But here's the screwed up part, you KNEW it was coming sooner or later.

Be interesting to see the context, whatever it might be. Guillen's all stream-of-consciousness. Story's behind the Time paywall, though.

I'm still wondering how we give China favored nation trading status, and a nearly total embargo against anything Cuban, save for a pork sandwich.

I think we should send Jay Mariotti in to verify the quote. :D

CBP (Citizen's Bank Park in Philadelphia). Right now, I'm waiting for the first pitch.
