What is this "pregant" thing?

I once went on a date with a divorced catholic mother of three who was surprised to find out that in the Congregational Church she could receive communion. Evidently in the Catholic church she could not. What are the rules on divorced women receiving communion. What about unmarried mothers? Can they receive communion?

While on the subject my understanding is that a Mormon woman who has sex while not married is supposed to go to an elder and confess. She will be told to refrain from communion for some period of time. Then if she abstains for this period of time then she can request reinstatement. Is this true? And, in practice, do men follow the same rules?

 

Feel bad for her, for sure, but you have to know what you're getting into when you align yourself with such a cult.
