Voting in the Top 25 isn't as easy as you might think. It can be a chore if you do it the right way.

This gig is solid to be certain. C-U is a little dull as a city/cities if you're looking for much social life. But Illinois is one of the premier programs to be covering in college basketball. Period. Over the last five years, only Duke has more wins. That should tell you something.

What do you consider good? I looked it up and the paper is smaller than I thought -- about 40,000 -- so I wonder how much they can pay.

What would be a fair set of qualifications/experience here?

Either one of us sucks at writing, or one of us sucks at comprehension.

My apologies. Long night, involving a few beers. Previous post has been revised.

How many years in the biz would you expect to see out of the hire here?

Um, the point here is that most reputable and relevant newspapers have put in their ethics policies that writers shouldn't vote in any kind of poll.  It has nothing to do with easy.  The only people who care about who's voting in the top 25 are irrelevant, horsecrap papers like Champaign.  That's why it's funny.

I think the point is that no sports editor should require a staffer to participate in the Top 25 poll.

Jesus Christ, kid, you're not getting the job. Shut the fuck up.

Every goddamn job thread you come asking if you can get the job. Just send your shit in and find out you're not going to get it the hard way
