When they beat the Braves in the NLCS and advanced to the World Series to face off against the Blue Jays? Then they were on the verge of beating the Jays to tie the series at 3. Then Mitch Williams came in and all of the Phillies fans knew what was going to happen? And sure enough...

    Yeah...I remember it fine.

How about in 1927, there were unassisted triple plays on CONSECUTIVE DAYS.

    May 30, 1927: Jimmy Cooney.
    May 31, 1927: Johnny Neun.

    AP's art on this?

    1. Tulowitzki running off the field by himself after the play.

    2. Tulowitzki getting a high-five from Helton in the dugout.

    That would be it.

Of course, there was a triple play in that World Series. Too bad the umpire missed it.

spnited remembers it. Shit, it was in Cleveland, after all! :D ;D

If you watch the replay, the kid didn't step on second base until after he tagged the runner coming from first.

I wonder if this is the First ever Rookie Unassisted Triple Play.

Braves broadcast said Tony Gwynn also hit into two triple plays. I can't imagine anyone's hit into three.

A guy in Double-A hit into two triple plays in the same season a couple of years ago. I want to say he was in the Oakland system, but I'm pretty sure it was one of the Texas League teams.

If a guy hits into two triple plays, he should just quit baseball
