You're from Paducah, yet you've been thinking in an Appalachian accent? :D

And oh yeah, all soft drinks here are called Coke, unless you're referring to Ski or Ale-8.

Oh. My. God. Ale-8-One is the worst beverage ever foisted on humankind.

I vomit in my mouth just thinking of it.

Ale-8 is a drink I will only drink when I'm over at my friend Jonathan's house.

I'm not really sure what you'd call it, but me and my Appalachian buddy talk almost exactly the same, as well as half the people where I'm from. Technically I'm from a town about 40 miles from Paducah that is only a hint of a dot on the map. No one ever knows what I'm talking about, so I have to always just say Paducah.

But still it seems a very similar accent to hers.

I have a friend who goes to Western that may be from the same area you are.

Bite your tongue. Ale-8 is the bomb! Funny how all the Kentuckians sort of thread jacked this to take up for our state. A defensive lot we are.

I really caught a lot of crap when I moved up to extreme northern Ohio. The first time I came out with a y'all, it was over.

We Kentuckians (even those who just attended college here) are a defensive bunch. Always have been, always will be.

Went to New York for a spring break trip my freshman year in high school on a band trip. A group of my friends met up with and got to know a group of kids from this school in Minnesota. The first time we said ya'll, they were like "what's that aboot, eh?" That conversation still cracks me up, even though I haven't heard from them in several years now.

I'm only defensive because my dad's side of the family's from there.

I'm always defensive of Kentucky, it's worth the threadjack.

What's not to love about Keeneland?

I just always go straight down Man O' War, past the airport, then straight in. :D
