And Kentucky fans wonder why they have the rep they do ...

Don't know John Feinstein (other than through reading many of his solid works), but some Kentucky fans think his sole goal is to make them miserable:

Also on the same message board: A radio guy/blogger/message board freak who claims to have an interview with Katz next week and says Katz better bring his 'A' game to the show:

This is SO not going to end well. Especially since UK is so beloved on here, about as much as Feinstein.

I don't know if UK is a "bastion" of cheating, but it has done its faire share of it.

As far as Uk being the worst program in college sports, well I doubt that. Maybe one of the most demanding with some non-realistic expectations, but get in line their with every big name sports program.

OSU football is pretty bad, Bama football's act is nothing new.

But Duke, the reason they don;t have crazy fans is they don't have a local following. It's a national school. And I do seem to remember UNC fans not all too happy with Matt Daugherty a while back either.

God help me, I read every post in that second thread. What did Tipton do to be "shamed eternally" by fans? What have I missed?

He doesn't kiss the ass of UK. Isn;t that one of the seven deadly sins?

Call me the next time his fucking notebook has a single relevant item.

I like reading his notebook. Mostly, I like reading the stuff after the main item. It's neat to see what's up with former players etc.

Can't always have the most hard-hitting stuff every week when you;re writing amost a full page notebook nearly 50 weeks a year.

I love the "he could take Viagra and grow taller line."

UK, is UK. Once the horse race ends, there really is nothing else to follow in the state other than mining coal or shoveling it into your boiler at home. The fans also do not realize that night in and night out playing on the road in the SEC is very tough to do. The Pac-10 is the only conference I think is harder because of the distance needed to travel. Tucson to Pullman and Tempe to Corvallis are long, long trips.

I think Tony should ask him next time if UTEP (Texas Western) basketball has a better shot at making the tourney this year than UK.

Oh, the worst job in college sports was following Bobby Knight at IU. John should have known that one.

  8. I thought Feinstein had pissed off the Man U folks.
    My bad.

Yeah, since there is coal all over the state. Oh wait there isn't. Anyway, after Derby people get geared up for football season, don't laugh, and of course all basketball all the time.

And the SEC is a both on the road. Even places that suck, when you go in there it's just hard. Especially with a program like UK. Im sure UCLA, Kansas and UNC epxerience the same thing.

And yes fans are very unrealisitc here. I laugh when I'm with family that are just so blindly optimistic.

Do agree followng Knight was the hardest thng to do in coaching. That was a no-win situation from the start.

    I didn't say hard-hitting. I didn't say every item.

I said one item that's relevant.

I thought Kentucky was coal mining country?

Oh well, I do know alot of the schools and gyms up there still have people shoveling coal into the furnace to heat the schools up in the mountains.
