    Just silly. You get deals done with other countries over drinks, not dull PowerPoints. Why would it be surprising that liquor is a major expense for diplomatic missions?

    Next time there's an official function at the U.S. embassy in France or Ireland we'll make sure to put B.Y.O.B. at the bottom of the invitation.

    Oh, and to make sure there are no charges of spending too much, the function will also be catered by Sonny's.

    There are now Subways all over the world. So they can just order up a couple of giant party subs (and go with Jared's veggie special instead of the BMT or Spicy Italian -- just to keep costs down).
