For a first rounder? Wowza. Jerry Jones must be on something.

Roy Williams the WR is actually pretty good, when he feels like playing.

For the Lions, it's a great deal -- they get a 1st when they would have got nothing.

Other reported versions of the deal say they get two 2nd-rounders, which might actually turn out to be a better deal for the Lions. You can usually pick up solid OL and DL picks in the second, and that's what the Lions need more than anything.

Good deal for the Lions getting the first rounder. With their craptastic QB play, they certainly weren't getting anything out of him now.

Agreed, sorta. And fixed to reflect a better opinion on him. I think its a good day when you can draft a guy in the first round, trade him five years later for a first round pick. The Lions have two now; lets see if they unloaded Kitna for a bag of medical tape. The day can still get better.

Roy Williams played JV quarterback for Permian.

Maybe, the Cowgirls traded for him to start this week. He's a better option than Brad Johnson.

Why are you speculating as if the Lions are run by rational, logical individuals?

Well played. The lineman they draft with this pick will be out of the league by 2012. But by 2011, they will trade him to an AFC team for a 6th round pick, which they will waste on a player that makes the roster for one season returning punts. Said player will take the place of another player who is cut in training camp. That player will end up on a team like the Broncos and be a 1,000 yard rusher.

Millen was the chief idiot, he is gone.

By definition anything and everything done by Millen was going to be a disaster; now that other people are calling the shots there is some hope for basic-level competence.

ESPN at odds with the Dallas News ... they reported no first round pick.

Not sure if this was just updated on the blog or not, but it's saying a first, third and sixth for Williams and Detroit's seventh. High price for any player.

I told you. DMN and Freep are on top of this. ESPN is not.

And the seventh rounder/sixth rounder could be back to back picks. They are ultimately meaningless. It is basically a first and a third, which is still great.
