Crazy happenings out here in the woods. A husband and wife drown when their fishing boat turns in some rough water. Searchers find three other drowning victims before finally finding the recently missing couple.

The extra bodies belong to people who went missing on the lake several years ago but were never found.

The water is so cold there that the bodies often sink and never come back up.

There's a great story in NYT writer Charlie LeDuff's compilation about the unit of the NYPD that's responsible for fishing bodies out of the Hudson. Each spring they get really busy because the warmer weather causes a lot more bodies to come to the surface.

They don't make cement shoes like they used to.

Don't blame the cement, blame the labor. Mafia hired hands just aren't what they used to be.
